Modern Music

This drawing is the second gay-boy art of the day. It is based on two very cute boyfriends at my school.

Let us call them Hat Guy and Sweater Guy.

Sweater Guy plays bass in the jazz band and in orchestra. He is out, and very fashionable and sophisticated and friendly. A while ago, on a trip with the jazz band, he mentioned his boyfriend, and casually identified him. I realized that Sweater Guy's boyfriend was Hat Guy, who is in my Biology class and isn't out.

Hat Guy is very much like the stereotypical jock, at least superficially: he is on the swim team, he wears lettermen jackets and sweater caps and he makes a routine habit of referring to his "girlfriend". Once I realized he was dating Sweater Guy, I realized that whenever he talked about his "girlfriend", he was talking about him. I see them walking around together and talking after school, and recently Sweater Guy came to a recording session for the Jazz band wearing his boyfriend's hat.

I hate to overuse the word cute.
